Hello, my name is Heather, and I’m addicted to making websites.

I decided to create WebDevAddict.com as an outlet for me to share my passion of web development and design with the world – while also of course feeding that addiction. You’ll find me here posting tutorials, projects, and just fun code snippets for your enjoyment.

My passion for web development began during my pursuit of a Computer Science degree back in 2009 at the University of North Texas. During my junior year, I took a fateful elective class called “Advanced Web Development”, taught by who would soon become my most favorite professor of all time. He had a passion for web development (and specifically PHP) that was absolutely infectious. I quickly found myself going above and beyond in that class, which honestly felt more like a fun hobby than school work (school work being fun – imagine that!).

As they say – The rest is history. My professor’s love for everything web development rubbed off onto me, and I’ve been creating mountains of unnecessary websites ever since.

In particular, I’m quite obsessed with the WordPress platform. In case you’re not familiar with it, WordPress is a free content-management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. It’s absolutely addicting, and I hope to talk to you more about it in future posts.

In addition to WordPress, I plan to eventually cover all levels of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript tutorials, with a sprinkle of fun code-snippets and design articles on the side. But really – who knows where else we’ll venture! My hope is that my excitement for web development will inspire the little webdevaddict in you as well, and if there are any particular topics you’d like me to talk about, please let me know!

Oh also – I’m obsessed with cats, cooking, and home decorating. That’s my complete list of other hobbies.

If you’d like to keep in touch elsewhere, I’m usually lurking in one of those social media places at the bottom of the page. Feel free to hit me up, and I’ll try to respond promptly.

Take care, and hope you enjoy the site!
